Zazzau traditional title holder resigns after emergence of new Emir Zazzau Emirate
A traditional title holder in Zazzau Emirates Council, Alhaji Aminu Yakubu Wambai, popularly known as “Wakilin Raya Kasar Zazzau,” has resigned his appointment.
Alhaji Wambai who was representing Kaduna North and South Local Government Area of Kaduna State, announced his resignation on Wednesday shortly after the appointment of Ambassador Nuhu Bamali as 19th Emir of Zazzau .
A letter dated 7th October, 2020, issued and personally signed by Aminu Yakubu Wambai stated that his resignation as ‘7th Wakili Raya Kasar Zazzau,’ was personal, and has nothing to do with any apprehension or being frightened.
Wambai, according to the letter addressed to the Secretary to the Zazzau Emirate Council, resigned following the demise of His Highness the 18 Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu ldris (CFR), which occurred on the September 27, 2020.
It stated: “I write to express my gratitude to Allah Subahanahu Wata’ala for making me to be appointed to the position, as well as to say my pleasure for enabling me to serve creditably well to the best of my ability and loyalty for the period of 19 years from Friday, 21 June, 2001 to date.
“I am beset, humbly conscious of my enthusiasts to convey to you my resolve to resign my appointment as the 7th WAKILIN RAYA KASAR ZAZZAU, as well as a Permanent Zazzau Emirate Council member, representing Kaduna North and Kaduna South Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, with effect from today 7th October, 2020.”
The letter continued, “I would like to assure you and the general public, that my resignation is purely personal, and therefore has nothing to do with any apprehension or fright what so ever.
“It is based on my utmost conviction to step aside from the palace activities, so as to enable me concentrate on the numerous personal duties.
“I thank you very much for the support, understanding, and reverence I received since my appointment,” it stated.
