Women coalition honours DUFUTH’s CMD for leadership excellence, peace building

The Chief Medical Director of David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital, Uburu, Ebonyi state, has received the coveted Leadership Peace Award of Excellence from the Coalition of Nigeria Women Forum for Peace and Good Governance.
It is the third prestigious award earned by the CMD within the year.
According to the letter accompanying the award signed by the group’s National President, Ambassador Ruth Ishaku, and delivered to the CMD on Friday, the award was based on the CMD’s visible contributions to promoting peace, unity and good governance as well as in championing women, youth empowerment and humanitarian services in Nigeria.
It further stated that the CMD, through exceptional administrative and professional ingenuity has brought a lot of physical transformation and systems innovation which have placed DUFUTH on top of service delivery in the medical sector.
The letter reads in part: “Through our advocacy programmes, leadership recognition platforms, and our ongoing Pad the Girl Child Campaign, we continue to identify and celebrate leaders whose work strengthens systems, uplift communities and contributes meaningfully to national stability and development.”
“This recognition is in acknowledgement of your exceptional stewardship and transformative progress recorded under your leadership at this great institution.
“Your tenure has been marked by strategic institutional strengthening, expansion of infrastructure, modernization of clinical services and deliberate efforts to raise professional standards across departments…”
The release signed by DUFUTH’s Public Relations Officer, Okorie Agwunwogo on Friday, confirmed this honour as the CMD’s third award within the year.
He conveyed the felicitations from the Management and staff of the hospital to the CMD and her family, describing the award as well deserved.
The Coalition of Nigeria Women Forum for Peace and Good Governance is a Nigerian advocacy group focused on promoting peace, equity, and good governance.
The group is known for recognising leadership excellence, advocating for social initiatives and campaigns that promote the wellbeing of the girl child, and fostering Partnerships to enhance women’s roles in public decision-making.
