Travellers from Lagos reportedly kidnapped in Kogi, N30m ransom demanded for each victim

Travellers from Iddo Park in Lagos heading for Taraba State have been reportedly kidnapped in Kogi State, with the abductors said to be demanding N30 million ransom for each of the victims.

 

“The travellers, who were passengers in a Taraba Express bus, were kidnapped in Ogorimagongo Local Government area of Kogi State at about 1800 hours on Thursday, January 22, 2026,” a source at Iddo Park told our Correspondent on Saturday, reports News Express.

 

The source disclosed that eight passengers and the driver were in the bus “but two passengers escaped at the point of kidnapping.”

 

“As at yesterday, the kidnappers are demanding N30m ransom for each victim,” the source added.

 

The incident, according to the source, has been reported to security operatives at the park and efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the captives.

 

News Express reports that Kogi has of late witnessed incidents of kidnapping of travellers, with the one allegedly involving Taraba Express only being the latest.
