Tensions rise as Iran cautions Gulf hotels over US-Israel troops, says they risk attack
Iran has issued a stern warning to hotel operators across Gulf countries, urging them not to accommodate United States and Israeli military personnel, as tensions continue to rise in the region.
According to reports, Iranian officials cautioned that civilian facilities, including hotels, could become “legitimate targets” if used to host foreign troops, stressing the need to keep non-military spaces out of the conflict.
The warning comes amid escalating hostilities involving Iran, the United States and Israel, with growing concerns that the conflict could spread further across West Asia.
Iranian authorities said intelligence indicated that some U.S. personnel displaced by recent attacks on military infrastructure had taken shelter in hotels and other civilian locations across the Gulf. The advisory, they noted, is aimed at preventing the militarisation of civilian spaces and reducing risks to residents and critical infrastructure.
The statement also suggested that similar arrangements may exist in other regional countries, with Tehran warning that any site used to support foreign military operations could be treated as a strategic target.
Analysts say the development reflects increasing pressure on Gulf States, many of which host U.S. military assets but are keen to avoid being drawn deeper into the conflict.
