Suspected kidnappers of Edo doctors arrested inside survivor’s hospital

Two of the suspected kidnappers of two Edo State Medical Doctors and brothers: Ibrahim Babatunde Abu and Tahir Abu, have been arrested inside the hospital where the survivor, Ibrahim, works.

 

According to available information on Sunday, the suspected kidnappers brought the daughter of one of them to the hospital.

 

Ibrahim was said to have identified them as he made to treat the girl.

 

They have since been handed over to the police as seen in a video that made the rounds on Sunday.

 

Voices in the background of the video, obviously in a police station, confirmed this.

 

Ibrahim and Tahir were abducted on January 2, 2026 at their residence on City Pride Road, Igbira Camp, Auchi, Edo State while opening the gate to their compound.

 

On January 5, 2026, the corpse of Tahir was discovered near Orley River along City Pride Road, Igbira Camp.

 

On January 15, 2026, Ibrahim was released after the family paid a ransom of N50 million.

 

This was out of the N100 million demanded by the kidnappers.

 

The N50 million was paid in tranches of N20 million and N30 million.
