Sunny Nwosu wins Capital Market Personality of the year award

Sir Sunny was declared the winner within the Week during NBE’s 4TH year anniversary Lecture and Awards which held at the LCCI Exhibition and Conference Centre,Lagos Business district, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
According to a statement from the Weekly Newspaper, the award was given to Nwosu for pioneering the proxy AGM idea and selling it to the capital market operators and other stakeholders at the on-set of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown which enabled shareholders access to dividend payments even as a lot of companies were able to save needed funds from needless physical Annual General Meetings.
As the newspaper stated, the idea incepted by Nwosu and his group has since been adopted by other countries in the bid to survive the threats of Covid-19 pandemic since that time, maintaining that its only God that can decipher the number of shareholders and companies the Nwosu idea helped to salvage from the dangers of Covid.
Speaking to our Correspondent over the weekend, ISAN National Co-ordinator, Dr Anthony Omojola, stated that it is a thing of joy to him that ISAN founder is winning so many awards during his tenure as the National Co-ordinator, saying that the milestones shows the impacts of the association as a body on the national economy.
As Dr Omojola stated: ”We are happy that we are a leading voice of the market and the award to Sir Nwosu shows the market is recognising our contributions toward building the nations economy. ISAN is always ready to do more as we are ahead of the others.”
While ISAN Secretary, Chibuzor Eke, in his reaction maintained that the award is an honour ”well deserved considering his (Nwosu’s) contribution to the Capital Market over the last 40 years. “He has through his contributions made the Capital Market more stable,” he said.
In his view the President of BBN said he is a kind-hearted man who believes in investing in people and urged other Nigerians to emulate him in the overall interest of the economy and society generally.
A seasoned Economist, Dr Biodun Adedipe, spoke on the topic: ‘Cryptocurrency vs e-Naira: Issues, Prospects and challenges in Nigeria,’ during the occasion.
Also, he is a member, Board of Directors, ISAN Investment and Property Company Limited, Chairman, Audit Committee of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, member Friesland Campina WAMCO Plc, Seplat Oil Plc, and TrustBond Mortgage Bank Plc. Nwosu is also a member, Securities and Exchange Commission – Rules/Legislation Committee and member, Federal Government of Nigeria Commission on Vision 20/20/20.
