Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has applauded the economic reform initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while urging a stronger focus on microeconomic policies that directly impact the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

Speaking at the 2026 Ramadan Iftar and Lenten Observance in Abuja on February 27, which convened political leaders and key stakeholders, Kalu highlighted the importance of translating national economic gains into tangible benefits for citizens.

The former Abia State governor commended the president and his economic team for efforts aimed at stabilizing the national economy. He emphasized that while macroeconomic indicators such as inflation rates and GDP growth are important, policies must also target small business owners, local enterprises, and grassroots communities to ensure inclusive growth.

Kalu stressed that Nigeria’s economic future depends not only on national stability but also on empowering everyday Nigerians through job creation, financial inclusion, and support for micro and small enterprises. His remarks underscored the need for a balanced approach that marries national economic targets with local-level impact.

The event served as both a spiritual gathering and a platform for leaders to discuss governance, national unity, and the country’s economic trajectory.
