A public spat has broken out between Senator Chris Anyanwu and former Governor Ikedi Ohakim of Imo State, with the senator accusing Ohakim of deliberately spreading falsehoods.

At the center of the controversy is Ohakim’s claim that Senator Anyanwu wrote a letter apologizing to former Head of State, General Sani Abacha. Anyanwu has vehemently denied the allegation, challenging Ohakim to produce the letter in question.

“I dare Ohakim to produce the letter he claims I wrote to Abacha,” Senator Anyanwu said in a statement. “Let him bring it to court and let forensic experts examine it. I am confident that the letter is a forgery, and Ohakim’s claim is nothing but a blatant lie.”

Senator Anyanwu also took issue with Ohakim’s criticism of her autobiography, “Bold Leap,” which she described as a meticulously researched and fact-checked account of her life.

The senator questioned Ohakim’s motives for spreading lies and half-truths, suggesting that he was trying to distract from his own questionable past.

“Nigerians deserve better from their leaders,” Senator Anyanwu said. “It’s time for Ohakim to stop spreading lies and start telling the truth.”
