Qatar 2022: Buhari, Biden watch Morocco vs France World Cup derby in White House

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari was been spotted alongside Joe Biden and other world leaders watching Morocco vs France match.

Buhari is currently in the United States where he has been having meetings with other Presidents in Washington.

The 79-year-old was accompanied to the US by Governor Abdulrahman of Kwara State in which they watched the World Cup semi-final together on the television.

Going into the semi-final clash with France, Buhari had earlier congratulated the Moroccan national team for their success reaching the last four following their win over Portugal.

He was impressed with the performance of the Moroccans claiming that they have made Africans proud.

Buhari while watching the game between Morocco vs France must have been expecting the Atlas Lions to win, but they suffered a defeat.

How did the game end?

France started the encounter impressively and waited for only five minutes to take the lead through Theo Hernandez.

The Moroccans missed some scoring chances in the first and second half and would have themselves to blame for losing the game.

Muani scored the second goal for France in the 79th minute to set up a final match against Argentina.

Mbappe shows hunger

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how France star Kylian Mbappe showed his desire to win another World Cup, after reacting to his side’s victory over Morocco in the semi-final.

Goals from Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani at either side of half time ensured the world champions made it to back-to-back finals.

Mbappe has been France’s main man at the tournament in Qatar and leads the goal king chart with five goals from six games.

After the match on Wednesday evening, the Paris Saint-Germain forward took to social media to share his excitement.
