Policemen abducted in Katsina regain freedom
The 12 policemen kidnapped along Kankara – Sheme road in Katsina state about two weeks ago have regained freedom. According to security sources.
It was gathered that the freed policemen were brought to a hospital in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, for medical check-up.
When contacted, the Zamfara state Police Commissioner, Usman Nagogo, referred our correspondent to the Force Public Relations Officer for further information on the matter.
“You can contact the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) please because any statement on the matter has been centralized at the Force Headquarters,” Mr Nagogo said.
However, the FPRO, Frank Mba, has up to the time of filing this report not responded to our phone calls and text messages.
The men were abducted on their way to Zamfara state for a special assignment and were asked by their abductors to pay ransom before they could be released.
