Peter Obi’s media aide tackles Dino Melaye for making caricature of Tinubu over health status

Dr Valentine Obienyem, media aide to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has condemned Senator Dino Melaye for making a caricature of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu in one of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) rally, saying there is a need to show sympathy to the sick even if they are political opponents.

Obienyem in a statement in Awka lamented that he “watched Sen. Melaye speaking at a campaign rally, where he made a mockery of Tinubu by shaking his hands vigorously and falling down severally while listening to the Emilakan song on the background.

“Whatever he intended to achieve, such a move by him was most inelegant but atypical. If you noticed, those standing with him did not express any emotion, because they were disgusted with his theatrics.

“It is good and acceptable to say that Tinubu is sick and is not fit to become the President while praying to God to grant him healing. Anybody can be sick, but what is wrong and condemnable is seeking to do what is obviously one’s sickness would not allow him to do, which is what Tinubu is doing.”

Continuing, Obienyem wrote: “We recognize that any of us can fall sick and should never make a mockery of the sick. If tomorrow, God forbid, Dino falls sick, that particular video will be played all over again in denunciation of the regrettable perfidious act”, he concluded.
