Osun State has emerged as the winner of the $500,000 prize in the National Health Challenge for the South West Zone, demonstrating exceptional performance in healthcare initiatives. The award was presented by His Excellency Abdulrahman Abdurasaq, the Governor of Kwara State, during a ceremony held at the Presidential Banquet Hall.
The cheque was received on behalf of Osun State by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, who was accompanied by key officials, including the Commissioner for Health, Jola Akintola, and the Director General of the Osun State Liaison Office in Abuja, Dr. Kunle Alao.
This achievement underscores Osun State’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and addressing critical health challenges in the region. The National Health Challenge is a competitive program aimed at incentivizing states to prioritize innovative and impactful healthcare solutions.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdurasaq, while presenting the award, commended Osun State for its outstanding efforts in advancing health outcomes and for its dedication to the well-being of its citizens. In his acceptance remarks, Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi reaffirmed the state’s commitment to channeling the prize money into further improving healthcare infrastructure, programs, and services.
