The Ogbamgba family has announced April 10 as the burial date of their matriarch, Madam Comfort Onyekaozuru Ogbamgba, nee Emeanwu, who passed on to glory on December 23, 2020 in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
According to a statement by her first daughter, Mrs. Obiageli Emenike, the late Madam Comfort will be interred in the family compound of her late husband, Mazi Gilbert Umezuruike Ogbamgba in Umuokognuo, Eluama in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State on April 10.
The burial rites of Madam Comfort Onyekaozuru Ogbamgba commenced in Jos with a Celebration of Life on February 10 that witnessed a large throng of family members, sympathizers and parishioners from different denominations, including the Oasis of Love Church; Evangelical Bible Outreach Ministry (EBOMI); Omega Fire Ministry; the Deeper Life Bible Church; and the Trinity Methodist Church where Mama worshipped before her death. They all turned out in large numbers to celebrate the life and times of Mama.
Before her death on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, Madam Comfort Ogbamgba was a key leader of the Methodist Church both in Jos and Umuokogbuo, Eluama Isuikwuato where she served in the vineyard of the Lord for many decades as a Children Church Teacher, Women Leader and Lay Preacher through which she impacted on and moulded the lives of many and raised generations of children who have grown to become adults and parents.
She also impacted and moulded the lives of her children with her husband, Mazi Gilbert Umezuruike Ogbamgba, who died in 1993. They lived for more than five decades in Jos safe for the interregnum of the Nigeria-Biafra war.
Madam Comfort Ogbamgba was a thorough disciplinarian, counsellor, Women leader and Christian Mother-in-Israel.
She is survived by grown-up sons and daughters, including Okechukwu, Obiageli, Chidiebere, Kelechi, John, Obioma and Onyinyechi, sons- and daughters-in-law and many grandchildren who have made remarkable impacts in their different areas of endeavor.
The family also announced a Thanksgiving Service slated for Sunday April 11 at the Evangel Methodist Church, Umuokogbuo Eluama Isuikwuato, Abia State.
She will be solely missed by many generations of young people who have grown to become adults, parents and moral influencers in the society.
