Nkeiruka Onyejiocha’s affront on Isuikwuato people and the challenge of Dr Rufus-Obi, By Olekenma Prince

It is no longer indistinguishable nor foggy that there is a clear cut line between the Isuikwuato and their Umunneochi brothers and sisters when it comes to equitable representation. But the most disturbing aspect of Hon Nkeiruka Onyejiocha’s insolence on the Isuikwuato people for 16 years so far is why it has appeared to look normal and without fierce resistance.

Some of the criterion for considering a representative of two independent jurisdictions for continuous representation is equity which represents justice and fairness, but Onyejiocha has With all audacity continued to spit on our collective dignity as human persons, and our rights to succeed by pretending to represent the isuikwuato people but with no plan of giving us any sense of respect nor belonging.

Why some have argued that the Uturu road project was attracted by her and that it is for the sole benefit of the isuikwuato people, I wish to ask where students of Umunneochi extraction assess the Abia State university from other than through same road. So, even though the road to Abia State University Uturu was rehabilitated by the Federal Government through Federal Government intervention Program, it is for the benefits of all lovers of education which Onyejiocha’s Umunneochi people too are top beneficiaries.

A critical and scrutinized analysis will reveal that the House of Representative member in the person of Onyejiocha has continually hijacked power for these 16 years and with an intention of going for another four years come 2023. Yet she has channeled all projects accruing from her representation of both Isuikwuato and Umunneochi to Umunneochi alone where she hails from. This is structural deprivation of the isuikwuato people and deliberate insult to all of our people must as a matter of urgency be addressed and brought to a stop or we will struggle to catch up with standards obtainable elsewhere in the world, including our nearby communities.

The lady who represents Isuikwuato and her people the Umunneochi people in the House of Representatives have attracted the Airport Training Institute located in her Umunneochi side of the divide with 90% of the beneficiaries being her own people. She has attracted a Federal Polytechnic and sited it again in her Umunneochi which will bring about economic prosperity in Umunneochi, and while we felt that for justice and fairness she should reciprocate by seeing the need to site the International Conference Center that is under construction in isuikwuato which she represents also, she without any regard for the isuikwuato people sited same to her place. It is a conscious act of disregard to our people.

Let anyone who feel this injustice to our people is fair step forward. Any Umunneochi person who will be comfortable with an isuikwuato person doing same to our Umunneochi brothers step forward.

We must all rise up and ensure this madness ends come 2023.

We must all decide not to endure this perpetual deprivation and insolence anymore.

We must all rise up before the bridge linking us with the Umunneochi people is destroyed out of greed and political recklessness.

And we must all say we can not go down without a fight come 2023.

I call on Isuikwuato Development Union and all stakeholders to wake up to this call and challenge this monster trying to trample on our survival as a people.

It is an insult to the elites of these two Local Government authorities under her watch that power has been confiscated by one woman who enriched few at the cost of the masses.

It becomes imperative that other worthy aspirants, particularly Dr Onyinyechi Rufus-Obi who has shown tremendous resilience, should be given the opportunity for proper representation of the neglected people of Isuikwuato.

Since her debut into the murky waters of Nigerian politics, Dr Rufus-Obi has beamed the light that shows the commitment of a people-oriented servant-leader who wants to make a positive difference to providing her constituents good representation in the Green Chamber.

Beyond righting the obvious wrongs of lopsided representation against the people of Isuikwuato, Dr Rufus-Obi promises to reach out to the entire people of Umunneochi, irrespective of the divide between the two homogeneous areas.
