NAPE’s 41st Annual Conference sets ambitious agenda for Nigeria’s energy evolution
The 41st Annual International Conference and Exhibition of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) commenced on Monday with the association’s President, Elliot Ibie unveiling an ambitious agenda for shaping Nigeria’s energy landscape.

Welcoming distinguished guests, including Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Mr. Ibie expressed gratitude to the sponsors, particularly Amni International Petroleum Development Company Limited, for their unwavering support in the face of industry challenges.
Under the theme, ‘Repositioning the Oil and Gas Industry for Future Energy Dynamics,’ the NAPE President outlined key considerations for Nigeria’s energy transition. He underscored the urgency of addressing global shifts toward low-carbon energy and the impact of geopolitical events on energy supply.
Highlighting the recent success of the Annual Pre-Conference Workshop, Mr Ibie announced that a comprehensive communique, derived from the theme: “Unlocking Nigeria’s Remaining Energy to Fuel Economic Growth and Diversification: Opportunities and Challenges,” will be presented to Engr. Gbenga Komolafe for presidential consideration.
“Over the next three days, the conference will explore international and local energy business landscapes, regulatory frameworks, financing, and viability. Discussions will span green energy transitions, sustainable exploration technologies, and strategies for adapting Nigeria’s geosciences education to future energy dynamics,” the NAPE president stated.
Ibie concluded by expressing hope that the conference would not only reposition the oil and gas industry but also serve as a catalyst for unlocking Nigeria’s untapped energy potential. He commended the Conference Planning Committee for their dedication in organizing an event that promises to be both enlightening and impactful.
