My certificates are missing – Tinubu’s running mate, Kabiru Masari laments

His running mate, Kabiru Masari, has informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that his original certificates are missing amid a controversy regarding Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, and his primary and secondary school transcripts.

Masari testified to an affidavit regarding the disappearance of his primary and secondary school transcripts in documents presented to INEC.

The running companion of Tinubu revealed that he went to Masari Primary School in Katsina State from 1972 to 1978 and graduated with a Grade 2 Certificate from Katsina Teachers College in 1982 and a Higher Certificate in 1995.

In the sworn affidavit for ‘Loss of Some Original Documents’ obtained from Divisional Police Headquarter, Wuse Zone 3, Abuja attached to the particulars he submitted to INEC, Masari said that in January 2021, while on transit within Wuse, Area FCT, Abuja, he lost his Certificate of Grade 2 Certificate from Katsina Teachers College and First Leaving Primary School Certificate issued by Masari Primary School, Katsina State, (1972-78).

He also said that all attempts to find the things had failed. Read the affidavit:

“Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, a male Nigerian citizen who is Muslim, from Abubakar Rimi Crescent in Apo, in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja, takes an oath and declares the following:

“That I am the person or entity mentioned above and the legitimate owner of the records stated below. My original Certificate of Occupancy of plot No. KT 17522, GRA Katsina Estate; Certificate of Kaduna State Development Centre from 1994–95; Grade 11 Certificate from Katsina Teachers College from 1979–83; and First Leaving School Certificate issued by Masari Primary School Katsina State from 1972–78 were all lost, I discovered sometime in January 2021 while travelling within Wuse Area, FCT– Abuja.

“All attempts to find the documents were unsuccessful, which is why this affidavit was made. This affidavit is necessary for record-keeping purposes, and it should be noted by all authorities and parties involved.”
