MSMEs commend Lagos State for MSMEs exclusive fair, APAN to train 5000 youths in processing
Micro ,Small and Medium Enterprises(MSMEs) in Lagos have Commended Lagos State government for the MSMEs Exclusive Fair which ended Sunday,even as it was disclosed that Lagos and Association of Agro Food Processors of Nigeria will partner to train 5000 youths in food processing.
The APAN President,Mr Duro Kuteyi who disclosed this during the fair had praised the collaborative style of the State government,saying it has enable it to achieve more economically despite the challenges of Covid-19 pandemic.
According to him the Ministry of Commerce and industry in Lagos is adding value to the State’s economic diversification efforts via non-oil sector,adding”the state has MSMEs no only by organising fairs but by sponsoring MSMEs to fairs in Kano,Kaduna,Enugu etc.
Speaking Mrs Udo Stephanie Akwara,CEO,Grandma Foods praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State government for the opportunity offered by the fair,maintaining it was a great opportunity for her company.
She however urged the state government not to relent in the best interest of the economy,stating that the largest room in the world is that for improvement.
According to Chairman National Association of Small Scale Industrialists(Lagos chapter) ,Mrs Gertude Akhimien”we want to show appreciation to Lagos for the cooperation and opportunities they are showing to MSMEs.
”I want to thank the Governor,Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry,Mrs Lola Akande they are giving us listening ears”.
During the award presentation on Sunday,the best Food and Beverage MSMEs was won by S.S.Commodity ltd,while the best in cosmetic category was Tokem Cosmetics,G.Daniels was best in the Leather &Bags category whereas LASCOPA was declared winner in the MDAs category.
Awards for the outstanding staff of the year 2021 went to Mrs O.O.Bakari for the management category,Mr Abiono Olumide for the Senior Officer category and Mr Kuti Razak for the Junior Staff category-all of which attracted N100,000 cash prize.
The N1Million raffle draw was won by Mrs Simiya Ibrahim.The Secretary to the State government who represented the Governor ,Mrs Folashade Jaji praised the participants and called on them to add more impetus to their work,saying the reward for hard-work is more work.
