Ministers sign performance bond with Tinubu to impact Nigerians positively

All Ministerial appointees in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet on Friday signed a performance bond, which they hope to leverage on to impact the lives of Nigerians within the shortest possible time.

 

The bond was signed after a three day Cabinet retreat for Ministers, Presidential Aides, Permanent Secretaries and Top Government Functionaries, organised by the presidency, with the theme: ‘Delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda,’ reports Daily Independent.

 

Closing the function, Tinubu tasked the Ministers to do everything within their strength to change the narrative and bring prosperity to Nigerians.

 

He said poverty was not a shameful thing, as most of the cabinet members may have been associated with poverty but it would be unacceptable, hence it behooves on us to navigate out of it.

 

According to the President, they must put personal ambitions aside and focus on the progress of the country, stressing that for him to have become the President, having going through a keenly contested election, he was proud of himself.

 

“I believe we are ready to change the narrative to bring about prosperity to the nation, are we ready?

 

“We can spend the money but we cannot spend the people, we have a responsibility to change the narrative, if we have a problem let’s talk to ourselves. It’s not about leave me alone, let me go, you may not have a home.

 

“Poverty is not a shameful thing, but it’s not acceptable. It’s left to you and I to navigate this ship out of poverty. We have gathered here to shape the future, no doubt about it, we are the hope and aspirations of many Nigerians. Let’s go out there, lets bond together and make sure our country is fully recovered from elephantisasis.

 

“We must put aside personal ambitions and focus on the progress of our nation. I am proud standing before you. I am proud of myself, I contested election I won, they took me to court, I won.”
