Mben Political Assembly to flag off 2020 Abia dialogue on excellent leadership
The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, is expected to grace the 2020 Abia Dialogue and Excellent Leadership Awards organized by Mben Political Assembly (MPA) in Umuahia on December 8, this year.
The Governor will lead dignitaries across the country as Special Guest to the event, scheduled at Hotel Royal Damgrete, Umuahia at 12 noon and which has former Finance Minister, Dr Kalu Idika Kalu, as the chief host, according to a press statement by the MPA.
The Dialogue has the theme: ‘Good Governance: Imperative for Unlocking Abia Potentials.’ It is the second in the yearly lecture series organised by the MPA, the political think tank of Ohafia clan in Abia State. It will be delivered by Prof. Mosto Kalu Onuoha, President of the Nigeria Academy of Science while Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; Director General of Nigerian Film Corporation, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe and Mr. Nnenna N’mma Lancaster-Okoro are speakers and discussants.
“Abia State is one of a few Nigerian sub-nationals with good constellation of human and natural resources. We need good governance to convert the potentials to manifest reality and you’ll see Abia blossom. That informed the choice of this year’s theme,’’ Dr Eme Uche Onu, President of the MPA said in the statement signed by the organisation’s Director of Publicity, Chief Emele Onu.
The event will also feature Awards and recognitions to illustrious Nigerians that have distinguished themselves in service to the people of Ohafia and humanity, including Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uchechukwu Ogah, and football star, Kanu Nwankwo.
The MPA is a think tank dedicated to the political renaissance of Ohafia clan in Abia State. The people are keen to produce the next Governor of Abia State, come 2023. The move, which is seen by many as fair and just, is getting wide support across the 17 local government areas of the state.
