Music superstar and philanthropist, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has announced the opening of application for his N250 million orphanage support fund.
The 29-year-old made the announcement on Instagram and Twitter on Monday, November 29, 2021.
He released details of the application process but explained that only government-approved orphanages are qualified to apply for the fund.

News Express reports that Davido raised N200m from friends and fans after asking them to send him money in a social media post on Wednesday, November 17.
He added his N50m to bring the total amount raised to N250m.
In a statement released on Saturday, November 20, the eve of his birthday, Davido announced that he would give all the money to orphanages across Nigeria.
He later set up a five-person committee to handle the disbursing of the money. Members of the committee include Mrs Titi Adebayo (Chairman of the committee), Prof Jonathan Nwosu (Secretary of the committee), Prof Yahana Asabe of the Northern Nigeria Seventh Day Adventist Union Conference, Pastor (Dr) Oyalabu of Spring Time Development Foundation, and Prof Uloma Onuoha.”
