The Ayede community, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, Tuesday night witnessed gunmen abduction of Mrs. Mary Jesulayomi, a pregnant woman.
The abduction occurred only a few days after suspected gunmen kidnapped a primary school proprietress, Mrs. Oladeinde Tomilola, and shot three other people during an attack in Ilu-Abo community within the same Local Government Area.
A resident, Pa Mse, told journalists that the assailants invaded Mrs. Jesulayomi’s residence along Liberty Avenue in the Ilu-Abo area at about 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
The attackers were said to have opened fire on her vehicle before taking her to an undisclosed location.
Her whereabouts remained unknown as at press time, with residents calling on security agencies to step up surveillance and urgently secure the release of those abducted in the area.
