This initiative is part of Governor Otti’s broader vision to foster even development across all parts of Abia State.

GODA, recently established through a bill signed into law on October 28, 2024, will focus on enhancing socio-economic progress in the Northern Senatorial District. It aims to create sustainable infrastructure, promote industrialization, and address local challenges within the region.

The agency is expected to function as a robust vehicle for targeted development, addressing critical needs in areas like road construction, power supply, healthcare, and education.

2. Engr. Obinna Odum – Director General

3. Dr. Onyinye Rufus-Obi – Member

These appointments underscore the government’s focus on harnessing expert knowledge to create impactful and lasting change. An official inauguration of the board will be scheduled soon, with expectations high for GODA to commence operations that will bring about meaningful improvements in the lives of residents.

Statement from the Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha:

“With GODA, we’re prioritizing the accelerated development of Ohafia and surrounding areas to uplift the quality of life for our citizens. We have no doubt that the newly appointed board members will bring the experience and commitment required to achieve this mission.”
