Fresh security concerns mount as Senator Ndume alleges troop withdrawal in Borno over ammunition shortage

A former Senate Chief Whip, Ali Ndume, has raised fresh concerns over Nigeria’s counter-insurgency operations, alleging that soldiers recently withdrew from some communities in Borno State due to a shortage of ammunition.

Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District and has been vocal on security issues in the North-East, said the development underscores the urgent need to strengthen logistics and support for frontline troops battling insurgents.
