Ebonyi APC stakeholders hold solidarity meeting ahead of Umahi’s expected defection

Some notable stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State have held a solidarity meeting as part of preparations to welcome the State Governor; Engr. Dave Umahi, into the party’s fold.

The meeting, which was convened at the Abakaliki residence of the member Representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State; Hon. Chinedu Ogah, had in attendance two former Speakers of the state House of Assembly, Augustine Nwankwegu and Christopher Omo Isu.

Others include Hon. Peter Oge Ali; Prof. Michael Awoke; Dr. Anthony Itumo; Engr Paul Okorie; Prof Joseph Afiukwa; Chief James Aro Nweke; as well the representatives of Prof Benard Odo, Senator Julius Ali Ucha and Engr. Edward Nkwegu, among others.

Addressing the stakeholders at the meeting; Hon. Ogah congratulated Governor Umahi on his decision to join the party and called on all stakeholders, party faithful and the general public to see the action as a welcome development.

He noted that the membership of the Governor into APC “will bring good tidings for the party ahead of the 2023 Governorship election in the state.”

On his part, a former Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Abia Onyike, enjoined all party faithful to intensify efforts to unite the party across the entire polling units and wards of Ebonyi State to give the Governor a befitting welcome. He noted that the Governor joining APC would guarantee success of the party and improve its economic status.
