The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has passed away, just two days after marking his 90th birthday.
According to Tribune Online, the revered monarch died in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, bringing an end to a short but impactful reign that lasted just about a year.
Oba Olakulehin, who was born on July 5, 1935, ascended the throne of his forefathers in July 2024 following the passing of his predecessor, Oba Lekan Balogun. He officially received his staff of office on July 12, 2024, from the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, becoming the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
