BREAKING: Amid leadership tussle, Police take over Rivers PDP secretariat

In a dramatic turn of events, the Nigerian Police have taken control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, due to an ongoing leadership crisis.

The police deployment has blocked the main road and entrance to the secretariat, causing traffic disruptions and restricting access to the premises. This move comes after a Rivers State High Court removed Aaron Chukwuemeka and his executive committee, paving the way for Nname Robinson Ewor to be appointed as Acting Chairman.

Ewor has since clarified that Chukwuemeka is no longer recognized as the PDP State Chairman, although he may continue to lead the Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI).

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been reaffirmed as the leader of the PDP in Rivers State, and Ewor has urged the public to disregard any claims suggesting former Governor Nyesom Wike as the party’s leader in the state.
