BREAKING: 3rd Force Movement raises alarm over FG’s rejection of Obidients’ use of facility for Lagos rally

The 3rd Force Movement has called the attention of all Nigerians to the lukewarm attitude of the Federal Ministry of Sports towards the use of the National Stadium in Lagos for the mega rally of the Labour Party scheduled to hold tomorrow.
It will be recalled that a Federal High Court during the week stopped the organisers of the Obi-Dati rally from gathering at the Lekki Toll Gate but could use other parts of Lagos State.
A statement issued a while ago by the 3rd Force Movement stated that its attention has been drawn by the organisers of the rally to the refusal of the federal sports ministry to approve the use of the National Stadium located in Surulere.
A copy of the application for use of venue by the organisers for the rally cited by The Frontier showed that the ministry received the application on September 13 but has not gotten back to the applicants (Labour Party, Lagos Chapter) as at time of going to Press.
According to the 3rd Force in the statement signed by its Director General, Veteran Olawale Okunniyi, and made available to The Frontier, the Federal Ministry of Sports headed by the Minister, Mr. Sunday Dare, was yet to respond to the application less than 24 hours to the rally, even with the intervention of the 3rd Force.
The mass movement therefore appealed to all well meaning Nigerians to prevail on the Minister “to immediately bow to wisdom and allow the peaceful independence rally of Obi-dient Nigerians to take place at the car park of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos as requested by the organisers to avoid unintended jam in Lagos tomorrow”.
Failure to accent to the request in time, the 3rd Force says, organisers of the rally would not be able to stop Nigerians from making use of strategic venue like Lekki Toll Gate, and Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park against all odds.
