Blakey Ijezie hosts 5th National Economic Conference on long-term wealth creation

Lagos will host leading finance, investment and entrepreneurship experts on Friday, February 13, 2026, as the 5th edition of Blakey’s National Economic Conference holds at the Banquet Hall, 4th Floor, Banex Mall, Lekki.
The conference, themed “Long-Term Wealth Creation: Lessons from the NGX and Strategic Investment Planning,” is designed to equip individuals, professionals, entrepreneurs and investors with practical strategies for sustainable wealth building in a fast-changing economic environment.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of I & I Investments Limited, Chief Blakey Okwudili Ijezie, will serve as Chief Host, Keynote Speaker and Lead Presenter at the event.
Chief Ijezie, a seasoned chartered accountant, investor and financial governance expert, is widely regarded as a pioneer in long-term investment thinking and capital market participation. A Fellow of multiple professional bodies, he has decades of experience spanning banking, auditing, taxation and strategic investment.
At the conference, he will deliver the keynote address, titled “Retire Young, Build Wealth, and Thrive: Lessons from Decades of NGX Investing,” alongside Paper One on “Strategic Investment Planning: Maximizing Returns on the NGX.”
Other notable speakers include Engr. Anthony Chinwe, a first-class civil engineering graduate of the University of Lagos and a multi-degree holder in engineering, economics and management. Chinwe, a respected entrepreneur and SME growth specialist, will present Paper Two, focusing on “Entrepreneurship as a Vehicle for Wealth Creation,” with emphasis on innovation, disciplined business growth and opportunities for SMEs and diaspora investors.
Also speaking is Mr. Emeka Atuma, FCA, a technology and fintech expert with over 20 years’ experience in enterprise risk management and financial systems. A former senior executive at United Capital Plc Group and FMDQ Depository Limited, Atuma will deliver Paper Three on “Digital Investments and the Future of Wealth Creation,” examining fintech innovation, digital platforms and data-driven investment strategies.
The speaker lineup is completed by Deacon Basil Aharanwa, a veteran personal finance and retirement planning expert, who will present Paper Four on “Building Long-Term Financial Security: Planning for Today and Tomorrow.” His session will focus on retirement readiness, risk management and disciplined financial planning.
The one-day conference will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., featuring interactive presentations, a panel discussion and a question-and-answer session with all speakers. Attendance is free of charge, with complimentary lunch and bottled water provided by the Blakey Ijezie Foundation.
The event will also be live-streamed on YouTube and Zoom, allowing virtual participation.
Organisers say the conference reflects a growing need for Nigerians to embrace informed investment decisions, entrepreneurship and digital finance as tools for long-term economic stability and wealth creation.
