The ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has not only failed in all standard of governance index but equally helped in making lives of Nigerians worthless as they continue to watch over increased insecurity and cost of living, Mukhtari Shagari has said.
Barrister Shagari, who is a former Minister of Water Resources and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto made the assertion while addressing scores of party faithful in Goronyo Local Government Area during the party’s campaign rally.
The former minister who appealed to the people of Sokoto and Nigerians to objectively see how the APC led federal government has drawn untold hardship, insecurity, and disunity to Nigeria and Nigerians by their soar policies, appointments and broken promises.
While urging Nigerians to come out en mass to vote out the APC at all levels in the forthcoming general elections, Shagari admonished youths to come out not just to rescue and secure but also recover their future and that of their generations yet unborn from the misrule of the APC.
“‘I am therefore appealing to all the youths to drop all forms of thuggery, drop weapons, clubs, sticks and all that and use their PVCs to push away APC at the federal levels and use same to elect PDP candidates at all levels.
“I am also appealing to the people of Sokoto to continue to pray that Allah should forever rescue them and the entire country from the misrule of APC government that has continually allow the lives of all to become worthless””. Shagari advised.
Earlier, the Chairman of Goronyo LGA, Hon. Abdulwahab Goronyo, asked if his people will still want to vote for the ruling APC at the federal level that has high level of insecurity.
On her part, Sokoto:s PDP Women Leader, Hajiya Kulu Rabah represented by Hajiya Raga Amadu Gidanraga said “all women should think of how their children and husbands are been killed in their respective homes because of insecurity. How they are rendered homeless and IDPs in their own villages”.
Expressing his worries over the insecurity in Nigeria, Sokoto and the Eastern axis of the State in particular, the Senatorial candidate of Sokoto East, Hon. Gwanda Gobir said the APC and its entire structures are scared of imminent loss, hence trying all tactics including using millions as bait to lure the PDP Deputy Governor, Hon Manir Dan’Iya into their fold.
According to Gwanda Gobir, only the PDP will be at the forefront of ensuring that the bandits disturbing them are brought to there knees.
He further urged the people of Sokoto East Senatorial axis to arm themselves and always come out to protect, and defend themselves against invaders.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal while addressing the cheering crowd, said they should not be carried away by some strangers that came to Sokoto recently but could not tell people what they have done to better the lives of Nigerians after almost 8 failed years of holden power at the federal level.
Tambuwal further mocked by the APC in Sokoto over what he called 419 attitude where they played on their leaders, by saying they are bringing some commissioners, the state deputy governor and host of others from the PDP into their fold but ended up been disappointed.
The Sokoto state governor, further, assured that the PDP will returned the lost glory of Nigerians education, agriculture, security and economy if voted into power in the forthcoming general elections.
