Some Abia State pensioners under the aegis of Concerned Abia State Pensioners have hit the streets of Umuahia, capital city of Abia State again protesting 45 months of unpaid pension arrears.

Speaking to ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER, the coordinator of the group Chief Emeka Okezie revealed that they have been conducting peaceful protest in the state, but accused the state government of refusing to listen to their issues and resolving them.

He alleged that the government pays them one third of their monthly pension and pays sometimes ones every three month.

Recall that these same pensioners had protested on May 31st 2022 demanding for the payment of their outstanding arrears.
