AFCON Title: Egypt head for historic 7th title, trounce Cameroon 3-1 •In epic finals battle with Senegal

The penalty shootout came after a barren draw by the two sides, which incidentally are the first and second bests in the title ownership with Egypt coasting home with six of the AFCON silverwares to that of Cameroon with five.
Surprisingly, it was Egypt, which lost its first game in the AFCON, 2021 edition, to Nigeria’s Super Eagles, while Cameroon, the host nation, which never lost a match in the tournament that had to take the exit at a time it was looking as if they were on the way to hosting to win.
After the goalless 120 minutes the two teams settled for penalties, scoring their first kicks only for the Egypt goalkeeper to save two of the Cameroon kicks, while the third was thrown away, by an apparenly agitated Lions’ player.
The Pharaohs, are expected to meet the Senagalese side on Sunday, after they qualified on Wednesday at the expense of Burkina Faso, 3-1 during regular time to book a place in the final in Yaunde, the Cameroonian capital.
