The Peter Obi Media Office (POMR) has denied claims that Mr Peter Obi granted an interview criticizing the African Democratic Congress (ADC), labeling the reports as “false and malicious.”
In a statement, POMR spokesman Ibrahim Umar emphasized that Obi has “expressed significant confidence” in the ADC under former Senate President David Mark’s leadership.
“Peter Obi has consistently highlighted the importance of unity in addressing poor governance and economic hardship, rather than attacking or criticising the ADC,” Umar said.
The statement directly refutes claims of Obi making statements against the ADC, calling them “directly at odds with his documented actions and public statements.”
Obi’s focus, according to POMR, is on forming a coalition to combat hunger and bad governance.
Umar urged the public and ADC leadership to disregard the “fake news,” attributing it to “political hirelings” seeking to distort facts and distract the opposition.
“We urge the public, particularly the leadership of the ADC, to regard these publications as fake news and recognise them as the work of political hirelings intent on distorting facts and distracting the opposition from the vital goal of ending bad governance,” he said.
The statement aims to set the record straight, emphasizing Obi’s commitment to unity and good governance.
