Abia Guber: Alex Otti inches close to victory as he maintains lead in 10 LGAs

Dr Alex Otti, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, in Abia State, is maintaining a comfortable lead in 10 Local Government Areas, LGAs, in the March 18 governorship election.

 

The results so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, show that Otti is leading.

 

According to the results announced by the different Local Government Collation Officers at the State Collation Centre at INEC headquarters in Umuahia on Sunday, Otti scored a total of 66,024 votes to stay on top.

 

His closest rival, Chief Okey Ahiwe of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled a total of 52,849 votes.

 

Results from seven LGAs are still being awaited as of the time of filing this report.
