Abia 2023 Guber: Apostle Dr Johnson-Ogbuneke inaugurates 155-man Campaign Council, set to hit the ground running
History was made on Friday, November 11, 2022, during the Inauguration and Consolidation of a 155-man Ngozi Abia Governorship Campaign Council at the Campaign Party Secretariat, in Umuahia.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) State Chairman, Elder Edward Ezenwoke adopted the chosen members of the Social Democratic Party SDP to task, and other Pro-Ngozi Abia Groups into the Campaign Council, who are all able, ready to work and campaign for a win in the forthcoming election 2023.
The Pro-Ngozi Abia Groups with their leaders include: The Ngozi Abia Governorship Campaign Organization, NAGOVCO; the Abia Vanguard for Good Governance, led by Prince Iyke Uduma; the Abia Chapter of the Youth Democratic Party of Nigeria YDPN, led by the State Chairman Amb Henry Okereke Nwafor; and the Abia Chapter of the Virtuous Widows International of Nigeria led by President & CEO- Lady Ifeyinwa Egbosiuba
Others are the Isuikwuato Youth League, led by Hon Alex Okoh; the Ike Ngozi Abia Mobilisation Group, led by Mazi Johnson Samuel Chinedu; the Umu-Asa Ngozi Abia; Ngozi Abia Youths For Good Governance; he Ngozi Abia Progressive Elite Women For Christ; and the Abia Chapter of the College of Education Academic Staff Union COEASU, For Good Governance.
All the various groups were consolidated into one inaugural group- the Ngozi Abia Governorship Campaign Council, NAGOVCC, and received by the SDP Chairman- Elder Ezenwoke to work and realise the mandate of Apostle Dr Ngozika Gladys Johnson-Ogbuneke, as the next Governor of Abia State.
In his speech, Elder Edward Ezenwoke, charged all the various groups to now see themselves as one formidable group, working towards the liberation of Abia State from years of poor performances and unproductive governments.
That everyone should work not for immediate gratification but towards the future glory of good governance for Abia State which will emerge with the successful election of Apostle Dr Johnson-Ogbuneke.
In her Response Speech, the SDP flag bearer for the Governorship race, Apostle Dr Ngozika Gladys Johnson-Ogbuneke, thanked everyone present, appreciating them for the trust and responsibility bestowed upon her by the Groups and the Social Democratic Party SDP, to run for the Governorship position in Abia State.
She promised to carry everyone along during the electioneering campaign and to give in her best as she battles for that revered position to serve Abia State as the next Governor.
She reiterated, that she was poised and ready to build up Abia State to great heights with international standards in infrastructures, good road networks, education, e-commerce, trade and industries, as well as build Abia Airways for State. She maintains her challenge in her detailed manifesto to turn Abia State in structural and human development within the first 24months of her administration, as comparable with the United Kingdom, failure to achieve which, that she will resign and call for a bye-election. She reaffirms that Abia State shall indeed be greatly built up under her administration, that all arrears of Teachers, Healthcare workers, Pensioners and other civil servants will be paid up within 18months of her administration and that workers will be paid as when due and regularly too.
The Grand Meeting of the Campaign Council ended well in goodly and high hopes for Abia State. It was a beautiful Event and was well attended too.
