2027: Tinubu, APC, not disturbed by coalition – Governor Nwifuru

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has urged opposition coalition parties to close ranks and support the second term Presidency of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, come 2027.

 

He described Tinubu’s presidency as divinely orchestrated, given his landslide victory at the polls in 2023 and the achievements so far recorded.

 

He appealed passionately to the people of South East zone of the country in particular, to remain supportive of the president, stressing that his administration has initiated policies and programmes that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.

 

Nwifuru spoke at the All Progressive Congress’ zonal stakeholders meeting held Monday in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital.

 

He maintained that the President on assumption of office took decisive steps to boost the economy, among other reforms and insisted that “no amount of coalition can derail God’s purpose of Tinubu winning the election, come 2027”

 

The Governor who also stated that opposition was necessary to enable any administration perform optimally however, maintained that such oppositions should be objective and devoid of parochial interests.

 

He said: “God chose President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be president of Nigeria contrary to the wishes and expectations of the opposition in 2023.

 

“God ignored others who contested on religious sentiments because God sees the heart of everybody, that is why He brought Tinubu.

 

“Let me assure the people that no one is disturbed by the coalition.

 

“No opposition is well prepared more than our president.

 

“We need someone who can take bold decisions.

 

“President Tinubu has such capacity .

 

“The party (APC) is at home in Ebonyi State, and we must be tolerant to divergent views and opinions and join Mr President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to succeed and complete his tenure.”

 

Nwifuru further commended the Zonal leaders of the APC for working assidously to sustain the country’s democracy.

 

“Anytime I see party executives, I know these are the people that work for the people.

 

“We must strengthen internal democracy of the party by ensuring inclusivity.

 

“This is because it is wrong to impose a candidate during any election”, he admonished.”

 

The state APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, in his remarks said the party would continue to conquer new grounds and ensure that it wins over all opposition members.

 

Speaking on the essence of the meeting, the Party’s Zonal Chairman, Dr Ijeoma Arodiogbu explained that it was a forum for consultation with stakeholders and executives across various wards and zones in the state towards ascertaining the strength and weakness of the party.

 

He commended Governor Nwifuru for his excellent leadership outcomes in the State, adding that the Governor’s support for the party was so glaring.

 

He stressed: “I am not surprised with what is happening because the Governor of the state is very supportive of the party.

 

“Additionally, we are here to tell you that Ebonyi is doing well in governance.

 

“What the Governor is doing is good.

 

“I drove around last night and I saw a beautiful city.”

 

The meeting witnessed a large turnout of the party’s representatives at various levels of government, party members and supporters.
