2027: Ogalagu secures early backing after massive CVR drive in Ohaukwu

A voter-sensitization campaign spearheaded by Barr. Tochukwu Ogalagu (“T-man”) swept through Ohaukwu LGA at the weekend, raising political awareness ahead of 2027 and ending with stakeholders urging him to contest the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency seat.
The CVR-focused drive held Saturday at Mgbo Court for eight Mgbo wards and Sunday at Ezzamgbo Practising School for two Izhia wards, covering 10 of Ohaukwu’s 15 wards, with plans for the remaining five in Effium. Attendees included women and youth groups, traditional and community leaders, clerics, and political and occupational associations.
Stakeholders backed Ogalagu to replace the incumbent in 2027, saying the endorsement responds to years of “political deceit and bad representation.”
Former Education Commissioner Prince Ndubuisi Chibueze Agbo and ex-council chairman Barr. Clement Odah described Ogalagu as people-focused and a dependable philanthropist. While Agbo cited payment of WASCE fees for over 2,000 students (worth more than ₦50 million) and facilitation of over 400 federal jobs; Odah pointed to free medical outreaches, economic empowerment and youth skills training as some of Ogalagu’s philanthropic gestures .
Youth voices Dr. Victor Nwankwo and Engr. Emmanuel Oboh said Ogalagu’s impact goes beyond politics and urged residents to obtain their PVCs. Oboh noted that heightened political consciousness will make votes count in 2027 and shift attention from inducements to performance.
The T-Man Liberation Pastors Forum, led by Pastor Timothy Nwachukwu, prayed and endorsed the push, calling Ogalagu’s aspiration “divinely inspired” and pledging support.
Ogalagu, in his remarks, said the exercise is a strategic civic-engagement push that will trickle down to villages, polling units and households, and charged supporters to back enthusiasm with action by registering and collecting their PVCs.
Supporters from Ishielu, Amike, Ntsurakpa, Umuagara and Amechi joined in songs and dances declaring loyalty to the Ogalagu Liberation Movement.
Highlights of the event included the inauguration of the T-man support groups across the wards to deepen mobilisation.
