2023: Vote Peter Obi and sweep away moneybags with their brooms – Adebanjo, Dr Eleazu
Two elder statemen, Pa Ayo Adebanjo and Elder (Dr) Uma Eleazu, have urged Nigerians to vote for Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi and “sweep away the moneybags in the forthcoming 2023 presidential elections.”
According to them, their support for Obi is because he appears to be the only presidential candidate who has come to serve and not to be served. The duo stated this at the launch of a book by Aligbo Development Foundation (ADF) held at the Welcome Centre Hotel, Ajao Estate, Lagos.
The Afenifere Leader said Obi is the only candidate that calms him down; that there is a future for Nigeria. However, he called on the Labour Party and the candidate’s support groups to structure a concrete campaign of action that would be unrelenting until March next year.
He enjoined them to be a truely action groups that cannot be intimidated by the old political parties and biased government officials, saying that they must be practical and realistic.
Even as Dr Eleazu praised Obi for being an example of good governance and effective leadership, maintained that what propels Obi is his patriotism and love for the mass of the people.
For LP Lagos Governorship candidate Gbadebo Vivour, Obi has already started changing the cause of Nigeria polity even before the elections as a lot of Nigerians know who is the apostle of the new Nigeria and that taking bribe to vote is a sin against their own future.
Obi’s representative at the event, Clara Eromosele, Secretary of Peter Obi Good Governance Advocate (POGA), called on all and sundry not to just support Obi from their comfort zones but urged them to contribute in winning more votes for the candidate and mobilizing funds for his election victory.
She told them that on election day, they should not only vote but monitor their voting units to ensure that results will not be changed, addying that even after his victory at the polls, they must join his bandwagon to ensure that his good policies for Nigerians are implimented for the overal interest of all and sundry.
ADF National President, Prof Uzodinma Nwala in his statement thanked all who graced the occasion and urged them to ensure that Nigerians elect Obi who is very credible and loves the Nigeria nation.
The Chairman of the occasion, Dr Oluwadurotimi Olulana, said the book would help do justice to the present Nigeria, describing Peter Obi as “the Moses of our time,” adding that he is blessed and anointed to change the whole vices plaguing the country.
“I assure you that he and Datti (vice-presidential candidate) will take us to the promised land.”
Reviewing the book, Barr Dele Farotimi said “The first chapter of the book talks about Peter Obi as a leader and not a ruler. This he has eloquently exhibited as a charismatic leader while he was Governor.
“People often believe that revolution should be about violence but it’s not. Sometimes, it comes like the attire Peter Obi usually puts on. Peter Obi understands the urgency and the need to save Nigeria,” he contended.
The event was graced by ADF Lagos Chair, Emmanuel Mok, Woman Leader, Mrs Nneka Chimezie, and the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Mr Nze Johnpaul.
