10 nations approve Nigeria’s ambassador-designates [FULL LIST]
The Nigerian government has successfully secured agreement for its ambassador-designates from 10 countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed.
According to Kimibie Ebienfa, spokesperson for the ministry, the countries that have formally accepted Nigeria’s nominees are: United Kingdom, Senegal, Qatar, Ireland, France, United States of America, Benin Republic, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, and Djibouti, reports Nigerian Tribune.
The federal government is still awaiting responses from other nations, and the date for the induction ceremony will be announced in due course once it is finalised and approved by the Presidency.
The announcement comes amid circulating rumours that former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, had been rejected by Germany as Nigeria’s ambassador. Fani-Kayode has dismissed these claims, describing them as “fake news.”
This development marks a significant step in strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic presence worldwide, as the new ambassadors prepare to take up their assignments.
