Nigeria gears up for Blakey’s National Economic Conference amid cost-of-living crisis

In a bid to address the country’s rising economic challenges, Nigeria is set to host the much-anticipated Blakey’s National Economic Conference – 3rd Edition tomorrow, June 13, 2025. The conference, themed “Nigeria’s Cost-of-Living Crisis: Practical Solutions for Financial Resilience,” aims to gather a diverse group of experts to discuss viable strategies for navigating the economic turbulence that has gripped the nation.

 

The event will take place at the Banquet Hall, Banex Mall, Lekki, Lagos, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (WAT), and is open to the public at no charge. Attendees are encouraged to engage in dialogues that highlight the critical issues affecting Nigeria’s economy, including soaring food prices and fuel expenses that continue to stretch household incomes.

 

Chief Blakey Okwudili Ijezie, a veteran Chartered Accountant and economic development advocate, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address. “We’re not gathering to complain,” Chief Ijezie stated. “Our aim is to build a future of shared resilience and sustainable growth.”

 

The conference will be chaired by Mr. Kenneth Odusanya, a renowned financial consultant known for his governance reforms. A range of guest speakers will also contribute their insights, including Mrs. Gloria Okwuosa, a business strategist and psychology expert; Mr. Patrick Ossai, a transport economist; Mr. Ken Ihedioha, a marketing and PR consultant; and Mr. Charles Fakrogha, a stockbroker and investment trainer.
