The wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, on Monday expressed displeasure over the rate of moral decay in the society in the recent times.

She stated this in Awka while reacting to the news of sexual abuse of a 4-year-old girl in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state by a 56-year-old Pastor of Jesus Build the Church Mission, Pastor Emeka Mkama.

According to report, Mkama has been detained since January while the incident occurred on December 24, 2024, but was only reported when the child’s health worsened after being treated with herbal medicine.

Mrs Soludo who received the official reports from the Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, and the Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area, Chief Stanley Nwoka vowed to ensure the prosecution of the pastor.

The Governor’s wife directed the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo, to take up the case and ensure that all legal mechanisms were explored to bring the alleged perpetrator to justice.

She further emphasised the need to break the culture of silence surrounding domestic and sexual violence, noting that speaking up was crucial in the fight against such crimes.
