Vice President Kashim Shettima wades through flood in Maiduguri after heavy rainfall caused a dam to collapse

 

Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, was filmed wading through dirty water in Maiduguri as Borno faces devastating floods.

 

The flood began when a dam overflowed after heavy rains, uprooting thousands of people.

 

Many residents have been displaced as Maiduguri was hit by the worst flood in 30 years.

 

Also, animals, including crocodiles and snakes, have washed into communities due to the flood.

 

Videos show locals wading through water that extends up to their thighs.

 

VP Shettima was seen visiting victims, the flood water up to his knees, while an aide held his shoes.
