The father is also very much involved in and responsible for the growth and moral development of the child.Comparing the degree of parental responsibilities of fathers and mothers amounts to sterile dialectics . This book is not fiction but a prospective life-changing template for moral goodness in our life-time.Both the father and the mother have complementary roles to play in the life of a child.
The failure of a mother or father in this regard could seriously affect the balance of good moral training for the child. But the absence of the male parent’s contribution to the proper training of a child is more injurious to a family and much more so for the economically disadvantaged family.
The father is the head of the family around whom major family decisions revolve.Both mother and child look up to the man as the head of the family and for protection even in a world twisted around by ideological arguments. Philip Wylie observed.”
To children, a father is a flesh-and-blood example of manhood.It is from him that a young girl derives a sense of what a man does,stands for,opposes, believes,.His examples will forever determine her responses to men. Similarly the male child in his cot begins to comprehend from his father early bits and parts of what he is expected to become. If a father isn’t there , the youthful mind will be at a loss, for there will be no example upon which to act or from which to refrain.The absence of a father leaves a vast inner desert,a guideless anxiety.Slowly there arises in the young mind a sense of having been let down….
