A university student, Blessing Karami who was declared missing on September 11 has been found dead. The family broke the news to THE WHISTLER on Wednesday evening.
The deceased was declared missing after leaving her place of work in Garki, Abuja and was never seen ever again.
Disclosing the news to the press, Blessing’s brother, Genesis Moses Karami, said the decomposing body of his sister was found in the bush in Karmo district of the Federal Capital Territory.
Blessing’s elder brother had relocated from Kaduna to Abuja to lead the search of his missing sister. Blessing was also a student at National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
In the effort to trace the whereabout of Blessing, the police had arrested one Aminu for questioning in regard to her disappearance. Aminu was the boyfriend to the deceased.
Recall that the 26-year-old Blessing went missing after leaving her place of work before time with the office key, which was said to be usual.
According to The Whistler, Aminu was held at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Durumi.
Speaking during an interview, Karami said he had been receiving strange calls on his sister. He stated that somebody called him and gave him details about the sister’s body, which turned out to be false.
“The caller said he saw a female body at Idu. We asked him to describe what she was wearing. He told us exactly what we were told my sister wore to office the day she went missing.
“After I kept trying to contact the DPO and it was not going through, I had to go to the police station at Karmo. On reaching there with a group of policemen, it turned out to be false. The caller kept toying with us, as he kept changing locations until we got tired and left.
But frantic searches later confirmed to Karami that his sister has truly died.
“We saw her decomposed body in the bush at Karmo. It’s not something we can move; we have to arrange with the environmental people to come and help us pack.
“We cannot travel with it. So, we just have to bury it here.
“It seems she has been dead for days due to the nature of the decomposition,” Karami said.
All attempts to speak with the FCT Police Command were unsuccessful.
Even the Police Officers that handled the case at Durumi police station, could not be reached.
