Many residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), who trooped to their banks to see if they can access the old or new N200 notes to meet their daily cash needs, were left disappointed on Thursday.
Most banks in Abuja were either closed or could not give customers their money over the counter or through ATMs.
Staff at FCMB and First Bank confirmed that they had not received their daily allocation of cash as at 1 pm.
Attempt to get a reaction from the CBN proved abortive as the Director of the Corporate Communications Department Osita Nwanisobi did not respond to questions.
