Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Port Harcourt hosts two-day capacity building workshop on AI Integration for Enhanced Classroom Learning

The management of Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Port Harcourt has successfully concluded a two-day capacity building workshop on the Integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools for Enhanced Classroom Learning Activities.
The programme was facilitated by Educastle International Consult as part of the school’s strategic drive to modernize instructional delivery and strengthen teachers’ professional competencies.
The workshop was organized under the leadership of the Commandant, Captain Chinomso Edna Omezurike, in deliberate alignment with contemporary educational transformation objectives and the strategic direction of the Directorate of Naval Education. The initiative underscores NNSS Port Harcourt’s commitment to leveraging emerging technologies to improve pedagogical effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
In her remarks, the Commandant emphasized that the integration of Artificial Intelligence tools into classroom instruction is no longer optional but imperative in a rapidly evolving digital learning environment. She reiterated that the training represents a forward-looking investment in human capital development, equipping teachers with relevant digital competencies required for 21st-century education delivery.
The scope of the workshop covered:
1. Introduction to the Digital Whiteboard System
2. Core Functions and Operational Capabilities of the Digital Whiteboard
3. Step-by-Step Procedures for Effective Classroom Utilization
4. Practical Demonstrations and Hands-On Sessions
5. Introduction to Additional AI-Driven Educational Tools designed to enhance lesson planning, interactive learning, assessment automation and instructional content development.
Participants engaged in practical sessions that strengthened their capacity to deploy AI-enabled tools to stimulate interactive learning, improve content visualization, streamline classroom management and optimize assessment processes.
The facilitators from Educastle provided technical guidance consistent with global best practices in educational technology integration. The training also ensured compliance with the standards and policy framework of the Directorate of Naval Education.
