Popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, has called Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, “Judas Of Oduduwa,” after the man joined the All Progressives Congress (APC.)

“I have for long, neglected the rantings of the Judas of Oduduwa attacking me knowing fully well that he is fake and a traitor.

“Time has now caught up with him and thanks to Allah, all his vituperations are cast in the dustbin of merciless history.

“It is him now, one wonders which of the seven circles of hell this duper will settle if he doesn’t repent,” Gumi had said

In the same vein, Nigerians were shocked when reports emerged that the major critic of the current administration, Femi Fani-Kayode, has officially defected to ruling APC.

The Progressives Governors Forum had on February 9, 2021, vowed that the ruling APC would never accept the former Minister.

The Director-General of the forum, Dr. Salihu Lukman, in a statement said the party would not downplay its integrity by allowing a personality like Fani-Kayode into the party, following the ex-Minister’s constant criticism of the APC administration.

The DG vowed that the party would not for any reason accept ‘terrorists’ into the party, likening FFK to Abubakar Shekau and Nnamdi Kanu.

Dr. Lukman made the assertion after pictures of a meeting between FFK and Governor Mai Mala Buni; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; trended online, indicating moves to dump the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

“Can we for instance in anyway or form contemplate having an Nnamdi Kanu or Abubakar Shekau as a member?

“At this rate, Nigerians will just wake and see some of our leaders presenting Mr. Fani-Kayode to President Buhari as a new member of our party.

“Although, we can confidently argue that President Buhari will not approve such deranged possibility, it is important to caution that such consideration will be stretching the trust of party members beyond acceptable limits”.

The former Minister who severally denied moves to dump PDP for APC. had also said that he would rather die than join the ruling party.

“I rather die than join the APC,” Fani-Kayode had said in a video clip currently in circulation.

But on Thursday, Mala Buni, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Caretaker Committee presented Fani-Kayode to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
