Subsidy Fraud Saga: Ex-Presidential aide dares Otedola over N1bn lawsuit threat, accuses the billionaire of hypocrisy

Umar Sani, an ex-aide of former Vice President Namadi Sambo, has penned a reply to billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, who threatened a N1 billion libel suit against him.
Otedola had instructed his lawyer to file a N1billion lawsuit against Umar Sani over his comment linking him to fuel subsidy fraud under former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
Otedola described Sani’s hit back at him as “malicious lies.”
In responding to Otedola’s threat on X, Sani said that the courts are institutions no Nigerian of good conscience should fear to approach.
“I will be on Arise TV at 3pm to respond to these assertions. The courts are institutions no Nigerian of good conscience should ever fear to approach,” he wrote on Monday.
Otedola had claimed that N2 trillion was siphoned through questionable subsidy claims under Jonathan.
In reply to Otedola, Sani described the businessman’s claim as a “hypocritical, selective, and convenient rewriting of history,” insisting that he was a beneficiary of the subsidy fraud.
