Kaduna-Abuja Train Attack: Bandits negotiator arrested by Interpol

Mallam Tukur Mamu, spokesperson for the Kaduna-based cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi was arrested on Tuesday by Interpol in Cairo, Egypt.
He however told PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday morning that he has been released after been interrogated and nothing incriminating found on him.

Accompanied by his two wives and one other person. Mamu is expected to arrive at Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano on Wednesday afternoon and may be interrogated further by officials of Department of State Security (DSS).

Publisher of Desert Herald newspaper, Mamu negotiated the release of some of the victims of the 28 March Abuja-Kaduna train attack.

Mamu announced his withdrawal as the lead negotiator in securing the release of the hostages of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack after he alleged a threat to his life by the Nigerian government.

The terrorists are still holding several of the victims captive.
