Ebonyi/Ohaukwu federal constituents reaffirm confidence in Ogalagu as he heeds call to contest

As political activities gather momentum in Ebonyi State ahead of the 2027 general elections, a legal practitioner, businessman and philanthropist, Chief Tochukwu Ogalagu, has formally declared his readiness to contest for the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

 

Ogalagu confirmed his decision at a supporters’ engagement held on Sunday at Amike, Ezzamgbo, in Ohaukwu Local Government Area, where constituents reaffirmed their confidence in him, describing him as their preferred candidate to deliver quality representation to the constituency.

 

The carnival-like gathering, which drew men, women and youth stakeholders from across the constituency, featured testimonies of Ogalagu’s philanthropic interventions, which speakers said have positively impacted individuals and communities within and beyond Ebonyi/Ohaukwu.

 

Speaking on behalf of the women, Mrs Charity Ali and Lovelyn Onwe said their support for Ogalagu was based on his track record of service, including employment opportunities secured for youths, scholarships, healthcare support for indigent persons, empowerment programmes and community development projects—achievements they noted were delivered without him occupying any public office.

 

They expressed confidence that Ogalagu would deliver even greater dividends if elected to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.

 

Mrs Ali, the Ohaukwu Women Leader of Francis Frontiers, a support group of Governor Francis Nwifuru, said: “It is good that T-man represents us at the Green Chambers because he is humble, caring and non-discriminatory. Anyone who approaches him with a problem receives both attention and solutions. He has done a lot for us already, and we believe the constituency will gain more if he is elected.”

 

Also speaking, Comrade Emmanuel Onah, a youth leader in the constituency, said Ogalagu’s extensive empowerment of young people had earned him overwhelming youth support.

 

According to him, Ogalagu has facilitated federal employment for over 500 youths, paid school fees and sponsored Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations for more than 2,000 students, among other interventions.

 

“Supporting Chief Ogalagu’s aspiration in 2027 is the least the youths can do in appreciation of what he has done for us,” Onah noted.
