BREAKING: Major boost for Labour Party as it gets first Senator from PDP decampee

It came with the defection of Francis Ezenwa, Senator representing Imo East, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on the heels of the collapse of the entire Imo North constituency of the major ruling party into the LP.
Ezenwa joined Haliru Jika, also representing Bauchi Central, at the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly, who also defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The notice of their defection was read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Wednesday, in what appears the new trend at the National Assembly, which has witnessed a number of such defections in the recent days, the most recent being the three APC, Ahmad Babba Kaita, Katsina North; Lawal Yahaya Gumau, Bauchi North, and Francis Alimikhena, Edo North, all defected to other parties.
